Licensees and QPIC's

  • Loan Originators and designated Qualified Persons in Charge (QPIC) must obtain a minimum of 16 credit hours within each reporting period; 2 credit hours specifically related to Ethics; 12 credit hours related to approved topics listed in Rules 010.03(b)(IDAPA 12.01.10).
  • The initial reporting period for licensed loan originators or designated QPIC's shall begin on November 1st immediately succeeding initial licensure or designation.
  • Instruction focusing on sales, marketing, commercial lending or brokering, motivational in nature, or skills pertaining to running a business will not be considered for credit purposes.
  • Successfully completed approved courses of accredited instruction may not be repeated for credit hours with the same education provider within the same reporting period
  • Course completion certificates may be submitted at any time to the Department during the reporting period, but MUST be delivered no later than 30 days following the expiration of each reporting period to avoid suspension or revocation of their license or designation (may jeopardize mortgage broker/lender firm license).
  • Credits for approved topic courses obtained through a presumptively accredited provider in which no completion certificate is issued may be submitted to the Department on a form approved by the Department accompanied by a $25 non-refundable fee. Form and fee must be submitted no later than one hudnred eighty (180) days following successful course completion.
  • Licensees shall maintain copies of certificates of completion for a period of no less than three (3) years following completion of the course.
