Course Provider General Information

  • Courses must constitute an organized program of learning which provides instrucion on subject matter described in IDAPA 12.01.10.010.03;
  • Course material must be prepared, and instruction conducted, by an individual or group qualified by practical or academic experience in the subjects to be presented;
  • Courses shall be presented in a setting suited to the educational activity allowing for participant interaction and comprehension of course material. Live class settings must be easily accessible and comply with all state and federal lays, such as Americans With Disabilities Act;
  • Instructional materials shall be of high quality, readable, carefully prepared and relevant to the course offered;
  • Providers shall notify the Director of any material changes made to accredited instrucion within 30 days.
  • Providers shall allow the Director or designated Department representative to audit instrucion courses and materials at no cost.
  • Records related to participant attendance and course completion shall be maintained for a minimum of three (3) years.
  • Successfully completed approved courses of accredited instrucion may not be repeated for credit hours with the same education provider within the same reporting period.
  • Marketing, soliciting or selling of products or services during the course instrucion time is prohibited. If the provider intends to market, solicit, or sell products or services before or after the course completion, a detailed information notice must be included in course materials with product description, cost and refund policty.
  • Providers shall supply a Course and Instructor Evaluation to each attendee

Presumptively Accredited Providers

Specific agencies and entities have been granted presumptive accreditation to provide continuing education courses for credit (IDAPA 12.01.10.012.01) without prior submission for approval. Courses provided for credit by these agencies must adhere to the following:

  • Course must be an approved topic; and
  • instructors must be an employee of, or a certified trained instructor agent of, the providing agency.

Providers should submit agendas, listing topics and instructors, for pre-review of acceptance verification using the Form EDU-900 and assignment of a provider and course ID number. Schedules of course offerings may be provided using Form EDU-901. Complete attendee rosters must be submitted to the Department within 30 days of course completion. Private and Non-Presumptively Accredited Providers

Private providers of education and entities not presumptively accredited must submit for entity, instructor and course approvals. To receive approval, course providers must file an application package, including a non-refundable $250 application fee per course, with the Department for each course to be offered. Education providers shall designate one (1) person as its contact person who shall be available to the Department during normal business hours. Designated person shall have authority to act with regard to all administrative matters concerning instructors, scheduling, advertising, recordkeeping, and supervising all programs offered by provider.

Attendance rosters shall be submitted to the Department within thirty (30) days of the conclusion of any course.

Providers, or any instructors, who have had a mortgage license revoked or suspended in any jurisdiction may not be eligible for accreditation. Providers will be required to submit detailed explanations of events and supporting documentation for review and consideration.

Accreditation of courses will expire two (2) years from the date of issuance of approval, and thereafter on each subsequent two (2) year anniversary of the renewal date. Renewal applications must be filed no later than sixty (60) days prior to each expiration date with a $150 non-refundable renewal few per course.
